Rafflesia occurs as genus of parasitic flowers. It contains Eighteen mintage (including iv incompletely known coinage every bit recognized by Meijer 1997), all noticed within South-East Asia, on the Malay Peninsula, Borneo, Sumatra and Kalimantan, and a Philippines. A flowers have there is no leaves & hardly any stem, only the brobdingnagian stippled 5-five-petalled flower by using the across as much as a single metre, & deliberation as much as X kilogram. A coinage Rafflesia arnoldii is the world's big individual flower. It was found in the Indonesian rain forest by Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles and Dr. Joseph Arnold within 1818.

The world's big inflorescence is borne by the Talipot palm (Corypha umbraculifera). A big unbranching inflorescence is the Titan Arum (Amorphophallus titanum) from a personal Araceae.
